Road and Highways
Chiang Mai is well served by roads and highways. Maps are available covering city roads as well as roads in the countryside leading to villages, districts and sub-districts.
Railways
At the present time there is one rail line leading from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, with two types of service, the Sprinter Express and the Special Express. From Bangkok to Chiang Mai, there are 7 trains daily. From Chiang Mai to Bangkok, there are 7 trains daily.
Air travel
Chiang Mai International Airport is the center for air travel in the north and is the second largest airport in Thailand after Bangkok International Airport. It is the main airport in the Northern Region and the hub for interprovincial flights from other regions, as well as international flights from other countries in Asia and Europe.
